Bakersfield, CA –
Dan Holtz returned to Super Late Model competition at Mesa
Marin Raceway by winning the first race of the 2003 Season. He
started the race from the back of the field because they never
made it out for practice or qualifying. Holtz had spent the
last two days working on the car himself. His new Ford Taurus
was fast out of the box. Holtz ran quickly through the field
and was in control before the halfway point in the race. After
that there were no serious threats to his lead and he never
looked back. Holtz then ran away to win the first race of the
series.
Holtz who won his last race at Mesa Marin in March running in the
Southwest Tour plans to run for both the Southwest Tour
Championship and the Mesa Marin Raceway Super Late Model
Championship. He was the 2001 Mesa Marian Track Champion.
Holtz's Rialto Concrete Products Team has really come together
with 2 Wins and a second place in the last three races. |
