Bakersfield, CA Brandon Miller cruised to victory in his RICH-PAK MOTORSPORTS Dodge Intrepid in the Late Model Feature Event at Mesa Marin Raceway on Saturday Night. Brandon who qualified on the pole and drew a 11 for the invert had to work his way through the veteran field. Brian Richardson who started 6th in his RICH-PAK MOTORSPORTS Dodge Intrepid took the lead in 11 laps. He held the lead for 24 laps with Miller working his way through the field. Miller took second on lap 33 and had passed Richardson in two laps to put himself solidly in the lead. The number 1 car made one last run on Miller and Miller pulled away to Win the 50 Lap Feature Event. This is Millers' first trip to Victory Lane in a Late Model.
Miller is the 2002 Mesa Marin Raceway Super Late Model Champion. He has raced in one Craftsman Truck Series This year. The race was at Mesa Marin Raceway where he qualified his Kevin Harvick owned #6 Lucas Oil Chevrolet 6th and finished 8th. Miller is also running selected races in the Winston West Series and Busch Grand National Series. He drove his Cal Spas/Solutions/Oakley sponsored Pontiac Grand Prix to a 11 place finish in the Winston West Race on April 26th at California Speedway.
The RICH-PAK MOTORSPORTS Team is dominating the Mesa Marin Late Model Series with Brian Richardson first in the Late Model points race at Mesa Marin and Eric Richardson 4th in points in the Series. There are two factors that are making this possible. The first factor is Gary Richardson the owner of the RICH-PAK Team a business savvy and dedicated man. Richardson is a stone fruit grower and packager in Bakersfield. The second factor is Gary Collins the race program director for RICH-PAK. Collins designed and tested the prototype truck for the Craftsman Truck Series and drove in the Series. Gary Collins has designed a Late Model Chassis called the G-Force Chassis that is as hot as you can get. All these factors make RICH-PAK MOTORSPORTS the Team to beat in the Late Model Series at Mesa Marin Raceway.

MESA MARIN AND NASCAR MOVE FORWARD WITH WEEKEND EVENTS
Statement from Mesa Marin VP, Larry Collins

Bakersfield, CA – As we observe the latest information regarding the situation in Iraq, Mesa Marin and NASCAR will continue with our current schedule of events for the up coming weekend.

At the same time we will not lose sight of the sacrifices our troops and their families are making during this difficult time.  In a show of support of our troops, hundreds of American flags will be displayed during the singing of the National Anthem on Sunday prior to the start of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series “Lucas Oil 250”. Color guards representing the Navy and Air Force will be present and a Naval fly-by is scheduled.
