BURNS
DOMINATES at Irwindale |
 |
Irwindale, Ca.- It was the Todd Burns show at Irwindale Speedway on Saturday night. Coming off
a win last time out, Burns continued his streak and took both Auto Club late
model main event victories in style. Burns, who was second quick in
qualifying, started both races on the pole and led every lap to take his third
victory of the season and his 29th since the track's inception. In the first
main, Burns was slightly challenged by the #53 of Jesse Flores. A late race
caution forced a restart, which saw Burns check out and take his first checkered
of the evening. The team made a couple of changes and rolled out for the second
main. It was a carbon copy of the first and Burns took home the 100 points,
which moved him up to fourth in the standings. |
A jubilant Burns
couldn't say enough about how great the car has been running. In the on-track
interview he stated, "I have to give a big thanks to Gary Collins out of
Bakersfield. If you want to run up front like us, he's the guy to see and get
one of his chassis'. I've got to thank the Price family for giving us the use
of their suite tonight to get our sponsors and potential sponsors up there.
Also, a big thanks to Villa Roma Sausage, Ron's Rear Ends, Maropulos Racing
Engines and all our sponsors here on the #4. My guys, they gave me a great car
tonight and I can't thank them enough for everything." Look for the Burns
Motorsports team to return to Irwindale Speedway this Saturday night. |
