Bakersfield, CA It was a sweltering night at Mesa Marin Raceway
this Saturday Night. The Rich Pak Motorsports team was hot in
more than one way. The night started out well for the Rich Pak
Team with Brian Richardson qualifying on the pole with a 19.73
to set a new Late Model Track Record. Eric Richardson qualified
6th with the best qualifying time of his racing career. Eric
Richardson started on the pole for the "Coors Light Challenge
Series" Valley Steel Twin 40's. Brian Richardson started 6th
with the invert. Eric Richardson drove a smart race and finished
strong with a 2nd place. Brian Richardson Finished 5th with old
tires after some good door to door racing. When asked about the
race Eric Richardson said," I had a great car. I want to thank
Gary Collins and Collins Motorsports. We worked hard for three
weeks and it paid off." |

In the 2nd Valley Steel
Twin 40 Brian Richardson started in the 3rd position on the grid
and Eric Richardson started in the 6th position. By the second
lap Brian Richardson had drove his car into 2nd place. By lap 10
he had lost his brakes. Around the middle of the race Brian
Richardson was in an intense duel for the lead with the 13 car.
They ran 6 laps door handle to door handle. It was some of the
closest racing of the 2003 season. Brian Richardson drove hard
to a 2nd place finish. Eric Richardson was 5th. When Brian
Richardson was asked about the day he said, " He was happy with
the day because of how the car was." Brian Richardson is in the
lead for the Mesa Marin Raceway Track Championship and the
Region with 5 WINS and a Track Record. Eric Richardson has a WIN
in the Series and is 6th in points.
The Rich Pak Motorsports Team picked up some new sponsors this
week.
