Irwindale, Ca.-
Todd Burns will have his hands full this
Saturday running both the King Taco 200 Winston West
and the AAA Late Model 50 at Irwindale Speedway.
The Burns Motorsports team has been busy the past
couple of weeks putting the west deal together and
getting their Pontiac prepped and ready. "We're looking
forward to running the west car again. We had some
people step up and help us put the deal together. Ray
Claridge, Golden West Trailer Sales, is the Primary
sponsor again this year. Also on board, Padco Carpet |

Cushion, Ron's Rear Ends,
Maropulos Racing Engines, HCS Cutler, Ted Davidson Equipment
Sales,
Accubanc Mortgage, Lee's Performance Products, and a few we're still
waiting to hear from," stated Burns.
Burns ran the Winston West race last year at Irwindale, started
last and finished 10th. He's looking forward
to this race and hoping to get a good qualifying run and start. "Last year
when we ran, a car in practice lost an
oil line and unfortunately we ended up in the wall and were not able to
qualify. My guys worked all day to fix it
as best as possible for the race. Considering the circumstances, we were
pretty happy with our finish."
Burns is looking toward a good finish in the late model, too.
Coming off his eighth consecutive victory, Burns
is the current points leader and the Sunbelt ShorTrack Regional points
leader. "We came out this year to win
races and let the points fall where they fall. We met our goal last year
by winning the championship and this
year was all about winning races. We teamed up with Gary Collins and are
running his G-Force chassis and it
just works. We've had a lot of luck on our side and that's a big part of
racing."
Saturday's events start at 6:00 pm with an on-track autograph
session followed by the AAA Late Model 50-lap main and the
Winston West King Taco 200. |
