Bakersfield, Ca Dan Holtz drove a perfect race Saturday
Night at Mesa Marin Raceway. The CARQUEST AUTO PARTS 75 lap
feature event determined the Super Late Model Championship.
Holtz qualified his Ford Taurus on the pole for the 6th time
this year and started 7th. He took control of the race in 16
laps and never looked back. Kevin Thompson, Holtzs' Southwest
Tour Team Owner came in a close 2nd. This was Dan Holtzs' second
Super Late Model Championship at Mesa Marin Raceway. His first
championship was in 2001. He won 6 of the 8 races |

run in the "Coors Light Challenge" Super Late Model Series. When
asked about the season Holtz said, " Our goal for this Super
Late Model Program was to get more seat time because there were
so few Southwest Tour Races. The Super Late Model keeps me on my
game. With the help of my crew and Watkins Engine Development I
had an outstanding season in the Super Late Model. I want to
thank Thompson Motorsports and Cal Spas for their support in my
Super Late Model Program."

racing and fitness. Holtz is presently 5th in points for the
Southwest Tour Championship with 1 WIN. |
