After
considering a number of candidates to drive their NASCAR
AUTOZONE ELITE DIVISION, SOUTHWEST TOUR SERIES CAR, for the
2004 Season, the Bob Corsaro Motorsports Team has placed
Johnny Antonino in the drivers seat. Antonino drove for
Corsaro last year in the NASCAR Winston West Series, ARCA, and
the Mesa Marin Raceway Super Late Model Series. Antonino's
best finish in 2003 was a second place finish in the Mesa
Marin Raceway Super Late Model Series. Antonino's experience
includes Go-Karts in his younger years then he graduated to
IRRA with his best year bringing him 3 WINS, 3 POLES, and a
track record in 1998. Then he went on to road racing circuits
in North America and Europe. Johnny's best year was 2001 when
he ran in the US Formula 3 Series with 1 WIN, 3 Poles, 2 Track
records, Rookie of the Year, and

second in points
overall. When reached by phone Johnny said "I am looking
forward to running the Southwest Tour." He also said "I feel
good on the super speedways and road tracks, this will be a
learning year."
The Bob Corsaro Motorsports Team has intentions to run all 14
races in the NASCAR AUTOZONE ELITE DIVISION, SOUTHWEST TOUR
SERIES. They are going to be running a FORD Motor built by
Watkins Engine Development and will be using a Port City
Chassis. Gary Collins, the team manager built the prototype
truck for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN TRUCK SERIES. Bob Corsaro is
one of the owners of Giumarra Vineyards Corporation. Giumarra
produces and distributes both "GrapeKing" grape juice and
"Asia Express" Hi-Energy drink. They are also a leader in the
Table Grape Industry. Corsaro has run cars in CART, USF3,
Formula Renault Europe, ARCA, NASCAR Winston West, and Super
Late Model. The team is run out of Collins Motorsports in the
Mesa Marin Motorsports Complex in Bakersfield California. |
