  Final Day of Testing for NASCAR Teams at Mesa Marin

Bakersfield, CA -- Tomorrow will be final test day for NASCAR Southwest and NASCAR Grand National West teams before next weekend's – 2004 $100,000 NASCAR Season Opener at Mesa Marin Raceway, March 27 and 28.
   Defending NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division Southwest Series StarNursery.com 150 race winner Dan Holtz (photo) is scheduled to be at the test, along with 2003 Irwindale Speedway champions; Rip Michels and Todd Burns. 2003 Mesa Marin Late Model champion Brian Richardson will be testing his NASCAR Grand National West Series car, as he will compete in both the NASCAR Grand National West Series 'Lucas Oil 150' and the NASCAR Late Model event next weekend at Mesa Marin. Other drivers scheduled tomorrow include; Eric Holmes, Greg Voigt, and Ben Walker.
   Saturday, Mesa Marin will host an open test day for Cal Spas SuperMoto Series riders from 7am to 10:30am, and NASCAR

Late Models, Street Stocks and Trucks from 11:00am 6:00pm. NASCAR Grand National West Series and NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division Southwest Series teams will not participate in Saturday’s test.

MESA MARIN AND NASCAR MOVE FORWARD WITH WEEKEND EVENTS
Statement from Mesa Marin VP, Larry Collins

Bakersfield, CA – As we observe the latest information regarding the situation in Iraq, Mesa Marin and NASCAR will continue with our current schedule of events for the up coming weekend.

   At the same time we will not lose sight of the sacrifices our troops and their families are making during this difficult time.  In a show of support of our troops, hundreds of American flags will be displayed during the singing of the National Anthem on Sunday prior to the start of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series “Lucas Oil 250”. Color guards representing the Navy and Air Force will be present and a Naval fly-by is scheduled.
