Kevin Harvick Returns to Mesa

Bakersfield, CA – Bakersfield’s own Kevin Harvick
will take time from his busy NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch Series schedule to
compete at Mesa Marin Raceway on Saturday, June 26th.
Harvick has driven to two consecutive NASCAR Late Model victories
at Mesa Marin in 2002 and 2003. For 2004, Harvick, a former Mesa Marin track
champion, will bring three fellow Nextel Cup drivers to Mesa Marin.
Multi-time winner of NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver Award and former series
champ, Bill Elliott will be with Harvick as well as two-time Daytona 500
winner, Sterling Marlin. A fourth driver will be announced at a later date.
The four Cup
drivers will fly from Infineon Raceway on Saturday afternoon to arrive at Mesa
Marin in time for an autograph session, practice, some interaction with the
crowd and their match race.

additional seating with the added excitement of him bringing
three of his Nextel Cup competitors.” stated Mesa Marin Senior
Vice-President, Larry Collins.
The June 26th event will be presented by Kyle Carter Homes and The
Law Offices of Young Wooldridge, and will feature NASCAR Late Models, the Speed
Truck Challenge, Chevron/Texaco High School Racing Series, 911 Race for Youth
Series and Mesa Marin’s annual Fireworks Spectacular. Gates will open at 5pm,
with racing at 7pm.
Ticket prices are $20 for general admission and $25 for reserved
seating. Admission for children 6 - 12 is $5. Free children’s tickets will be
available at local Carl’s Jr. and Texaco Express Lubes.
Mesa Marin will kick-off its 2004 season the weekend of March 26,
27 and 28, with the NASCAR Grand National West Series “Lucas Oil 150” and the
NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division Southwest Series “StarNursery.com 150”.
