  RICH - PAK FINISHES 1 - 2

Bakersfield, CA Brian Richardson started 5th and his cousin Eric Richardson started 3rd on the grid for the "Public Health Tobacco Free 75 " in the NASCAR Late Model Division at Mesa Marin Raceway on Saturday Night. Brian Richardson made a quick move to second in 2 laps and stalked the leader until lap 12 when he went door to door and pulled past for the lead on lap 14. Richardson never looked back with at least a 10 lap lead on second place and drove his G-Force Chassis to its first win of the 2004 season. Richardson was leading the late model race the week before and ran out of gas. Eric Richardson pulled into second place on lap 38 with a good margin after some close racing and finished

2nd in his Richland Chevrolet sponsored car. Greg Puskarich driving the Rich-Pak Street Stock finished 4th after coming from the back twice. Puskarich made a run for the lead at one point and was forced high and lost position.
Brian Richardson is the 2003 Mesa Marin Raceway Track Champion with 8 WINS and 4 POLES. Eric Richardson finished 5th in points for the Mesa Marin Raceway Late Model Championship in 2003 with 1 WIN.

MESA MARIN AND NASCAR MOVE FORWARD WITH WEEKEND EVENTS
Statement from Mesa Marin VP, Larry Collins

Bakersfield, CA – As we observe the latest information regarding the situation in Iraq, Mesa Marin and NASCAR will continue with our current schedule of events for the up coming weekend.

   At the same time we will not lose sight of the sacrifices our troops and their families are making during this difficult time.  In a show of support of our troops, hundreds of American flags will be displayed during the singing of the National Anthem on Sunday prior to the start of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series “Lucas Oil 250”. Color guards representing the Navy and Air Force will be present and a Naval fly-by is scheduled.
