Richardson finishes 3rd at Mesa Marin

Bakersfield, CA  There was electricity in the air Saturday Night ay Mesa Marin Raceway. The Nextel Challenge Race was happening. There were 4 Nextel Drivers there to race a 20 lap race. The stands were filled with over 9,000 fans. The Race went off without a hitch. The Cup Drivers stuck together like glue, inches between them for all 20 laps, running as hard as those ASA Speed Trucks would go. Kevin Harvick won the race - no surprises there.
There was another race that night after the Nextel Drivers race. The Late Models ran 50 laps. There was a 21 car field and they were running hard. Brian Richardson started the race in the 6th position on the grid in his Rich-Pak sponsored car. The leader of the race checked out and pulled away from the field. The race was for 3rd and 4th place at the end. Brian quickly passed 3 cars to move in to 3rd with some great door to door racing. Richardson protected his position and finished 3rd. Eric Richardson finished 15th. Brian Richardson is 3rd in points for the Mesa Marin Raceway Late Model Championship and Eric Richardson is in 7th.
Greg Puskarich won the last Street Stock race at Mesa Marin Raceway to move himself into the points lead for the championship. Puskarich drove his Rich-Pak Car to a dominate victory over the rest of the field.

MESA MARIN AND NASCAR MOVE FORWARD WITH WEEKEND EVENTS
Statement from Mesa Marin VP, Larry Collins

Bakersfield, CA – As we observe the latest information regarding the situation in Iraq, Mesa Marin and NASCAR will continue with our current schedule of events for the up coming weekend.

At the same time we will not lose sight of the sacrifices our troops and their families are making during this difficult time.  In a show of support of our troops, hundreds of American flags will be displayed during the singing of the National Anthem on Sunday prior to the start of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series “Lucas Oil 250”. Color guards representing the Navy and Air Force will be present and a Naval fly-by is scheduled.
