 Eric Richardson 4th in Mesa Late Model points race

Bakersfield, Ca It was a warm night for "Thursday Thunder" at Mesa Marin Raceway. Eric Richardson started the "Crystal Pools" sponsored 50 lap main event in his Rich-Pak Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo 9th on the racing grid. Richardson passed 4 cars charging hard the first 13 laps. He battled door to door for a number of laps with the 11 car and came out on top. Richardson drove smart during the remainder of the race avoiding 2 major crashes to finish 5th. Eric Richardson is 4th in the points race for the Mesa Marin Raceway Late Model Championship with 1 WIN, 5 Top 5's, and 9 Top 10's. 2003 Mesa Marin Raceway Late Model Champion Brian Richardson is 8th in the points race with 2 WINS.
   Greg Puskarich drove the Smith Brothers Street Stock for its first WIN of the 2003 season at Mesa Marin Raceway. Puskarich battled hard to win the race with David Hutchins coming from the back of the field to run door to door with Puskarich for close to 10 laps. Hutchins dashed past 6 cars in the first lap and 4 in the second lap of the race, by lap 6 he was in second place in his Crystal Pools sponsored Chevy Nova. Puskarich pulled away in the last few laps of the race to win. Puskarich and Hutchins are tied for the 2003 Mesa Marin Street Stock Championship.

MESA MARIN AND NASCAR MOVE FORWARD WITH WEEKEND EVENTS
Statement from Mesa Marin VP, Larry Collins

Bakersfield, CA – As we observe the latest information regarding the situation in Iraq, Mesa Marin and NASCAR will continue with our current schedule of events for the up coming weekend.

   At the same time we will not lose sight of the sacrifices our troops and their families are making during this difficult time.  In a show of support of our troops, hundreds of American flags will be displayed during the singing of the National Anthem on Sunday prior to the start of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series “Lucas Oil 250”. Color guards representing the Navy and Air Force will be present and a Naval fly-by is scheduled.
